Our Story

In 2021, amidst the chaos of the Covid-19 pandemic, Lee found himself in a pivotal moment of his life. He was working as a private personal assistant for two young lads, navigating the challenges and uncertainties of the times with unwavering dedication. Concurrently, he served as a team leader in a care home.

It was Lee’s time spent at Camp Loyaltown in America that truly ignited his passion and set the course for his future endeavors. Camp Loyaltown, a summer camp dedicated to supporting individuals with special needs, became a crucible of learning and growth for him. The experiences he had there laid the groundwork for what would eventually evolve into Hart Support Services.

Lee’s academic journey at Nottingham Trent University further solidified his commitment to this cause. His studies in Early Years and Special Inclusive Education equipped him with invaluable insights and skills. However, it was his hands-on experiences as a support worker in Nottingham that truly shaped his understanding of the challenges and joys within the field.

Through each interaction, Lee became increasingly convinced of the importance of providing high-quality care and support to individuals with special needs. Driven by a deep sense of purpose and determination, he founded Hart Support Services. For Lee, it was more than just starting a company; it was about creating a sanctuary of compassion and support where individuals with special needs could thrive.

Despite the growth of Hart Support Services, Lee remains deeply committed to the individuals he started with back in 2021. They continue to receive the same level of dedicated care and support, serving as a constant reminder of the importance of his mission. Every decision Lee makes at Hart Support Services is guided by the lessons he’s learned and the experiences he’s had. It’s more than just a business venture to him—it’s a labor of love, a testament to the transformative power of empathy and compassion. As he continues on this journey, Lee remains steadfast in his commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those who need it most, one person at a time.

Personal Stories

They both go above and beyond all expectations

We have been using Lee at Hart Support Services for the past two years ever since the death of my neighbour’s wife. A ex work colleague highly recommended Hart Support Services to us. My neighbour wasn’t keen on having carers in his home, he is a very independent person who didn’t realise just how much care he did need. Once I introduced him to Lee, they got on very well and Lee was very professional in every manner. Now that my neighbour can’t drive anymore it is lovely that they take him out for his coffee mornings, shopping, hospital appointments and day trips. Molly who is a big part of the team is very caring and understanding and has built up a special relationship. They both go above and beyond all expectations. If it wasn’t for Lee and Molly, my neighbour wouldn’t be able to the things enjoys. I’m so grateful.

Our son loves their company

Lee and Hart Support Services have been caring for our son since September 2021. Our son is now 20 years old and has severe cerebral palsy. He is non-verbal and requires support for all his needs including personal care, feeding, drinking and mobility. Both Lee and Molly have built up a wonderful rapport with our son and go above and beyond. When it comes to his care. In addition to evening care, they have also provided overnight Respite care and have taken him away for overnight short breaks. Our son loves their company (more so than ours I suspect!) And looks forward to spending time with them. We trust them both implicitly and can honestly say that they have been the best care team he has ever had. They always act with the utmost professionalism and provide a gold standard service. We could not recommend them more highly.

It is hard to imagine life before the Hart Support services team arrived

We have been using lee and his team at hart support services for just over two years. They act in the capacity as a PA to our 13-year-old son, who has cerebral palsy, diabetes and global delay. It is hard to imagine life before the Hart Support services team arrived; they provide superb support in a professional manner but maintain a relaxed and carefree atmosphere for our son, which is so important for us. When they are providing care in his home. Our son is extremely comfortable in their presence, he loves spending time with the team and the amazing activities they organise, and all this can be easily measured by the giggles you can hear when they are about. The team go that extra mile and think outside the box when encouraging our son to be independent and they get far better results than mum and dad can achieve. They are always mindful of his care plan and provide solutions when things aren’t going according to plan. They work hard to incorporate the same goals as school and his EHCP, wherever possible, to ensure that there is continuity at home and the wider community. As a parent it is difficult to open your house to carers; it is a safe and private place for all the Family, and it is not an easy task introducing and adjusting to this type of support. That said, the hart support services team helped us navigate our way through, they are friendly, respectful and fun to have around. They are considerate to my Husband, who often works from home, and the quiet space he needs at times, but then also inclusive of our older son. You will often find both my boys outside kicking a ball About with the team, watching a bit of television together or just having a chat about life. The whole family has benefited from our time with the team, and all feel so much more content now we have found each other.

We have been incredibly pleased with Hart Support Services

Hart support services have worked with our family for over 2 years now and Provide specialist one to one care in our home environment to support our two children. Our eldest is 15 and has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and visual impairment along with several other complex needs including: global developmental delay, sensory needs, dysphasia, seizures and mental health behavioural management needs. Our youngest son aged 12 has ADHD and has trouble with executive function skills, which impact his processing, organising and focusing on the task at hand, along with hyper mobility and emotional frustration and regulation. We have been incredibly pleased with Hart Support Services contribution to our sons’ development. Their commitment and passion to the welfare of our children has been exemplary and we have seen huge benefits from their input and continued improvement and development in the confidence and wellbeing in our children that their services bring. Lee and Molly in particular, have excellent interpersonal skills and are caring and empathetic individuals. They are mature, quick to learn and have a passion for supporting young people with additional needs. They work hard to learn about and understand both boys’ conditions and have spent a lot of time reading about how to manage and improve their day-to-day care, even giving us ideas and solutions to any problems that may arise. They work hard to ensure that he completes his physiotherapy when required and are always using their creativity and initiative to ensure that he is learning and developing important life skills, as part of his day-to-day routine. They are incredibly reliable with a very good work ethic, often supporting us in emergency situations at all times of the night and day and even when they are not scheduled to be working, whilst always having a smile on their faces. Time keeping is very good and they very rarely need to take time off due to sickness and will then provide additional cover where necessary. They are very honest and trustworthy and can be trusted to use discretion and sound judgment. They are more than willing to help with both mundane aspects of our boy’s care, as well as things that are of a more critical or difficult nature. Our children’s medical condition requires them to remain calm under pressure and they both manage range of behavioural and medical emergencies in a level headed manner of individuals far beyond their age and maturity, despite the stress and difficulties of the situation. I have no concerns about their ability to remain calm under pressure. We would not hesitate to highly recommend hart support services to any other family, as they quickly adapt, integrate and become a true asset to the young people they support and their wider families. We would be totally lost without them!
